At GK Law Co., I work with a lot of new business owners. Some have formally registered their business with their secretary of state as an LLC or a C-Corp. Others have not and instead choose to operate as a sole proprietorship. Deciding what's best for your business is not always easy! A lot of startups are under the impression that the best way to go is a Delaware C-Corp. Perhaps that could be true, but then again, Google is an LLC.

Before you blindly pick an entity type, as a business owner you should have a general understanding of each. Then you can deep dive and determine which entity fits your business the best. I created this chart to help you get started. Good luck on your journey to entrepreneurship!
